Starting point.

Orientation Day One

I must have been lucky to get a ride (from N's dad) to school early in the morning. Natural as it is, I was feeling apprehensive, but to my surprise, I wasn't exactly having butterflies in my stomach.

I walked to one end, trying to conceal any sign of nervousness, reading off the alphabets on the labels on the ground, and finally, I found 'RMT'. I politely asked the SL beside me where exactly am I supposed to go.
Jean: Hey, sorry. Where is RMT?
He: There. Where the dark pink balloons are.
Jean: Huh, so far behind.
He: *laughs* Yeah.

I started walking up the small steps on the narrow aisle, diverting my concentration on my steps instead of those apparent glances, lest I miss a step or lose my balance. Can't imagine how dire the consequences would be.

SL: Erm.. Oh, sorry, we ran out of seats. You'll have to sit on the steps.
Jean: Oh, okay, sure. Doesn't matter.
Another SL: Wah, you come here straight away sit down. I like.
Jean: *laughs* He told me to!

I took the initiative to strike conversations with people around me by starting with the most classic self-introduction. I won't deny that it was quite an easy task since everyone was willing to corporate with me.

I accompanied Nabilah when she wanted to join Stomp. I met other freshmen from all over business school and I had a memorable experience with the stomp team. You have no idea how much fun I had with this bunch of stompers.

Without any prompting from the SLs, we sat in a circle and began introducing ourselves to the rest of the team. We were full of vigor, and with the help of Victor, we managed to get a beat for our cheer. Marvellous job there!

After lunch, we settled down for some campus haunting supernatural tales. Then practice was resumed with everyone all hyped up, and we produced wonderful performances. We were also taught how to do our cheer, which was to the chorus of Jai Ho.

The last event of the day was held at the sports complex and whilst stomp was making our way there, we cheered to announce our presence. Mass dance and such were a blast! I was completely immersed in the contagious mood of being extremely enthusiastic, however, I wasn't able to detach myself from the pain from my sunburn. I had it the worst when all of us had to form a circle and run towards each other. Ian (Sofian, I assume), our project coordinator, once ran towards us, grabbing my shoulder, and completing the circle. You should know how rough this thing works, and Nabilah noticed the pain displayed on my face when they were tugging my shoulders.

I HAVE HAD GREAT FUN.

Orientation Day Two

I went in to the lecture theatre myself and I can never escape from embarrassment when I am alone. I went up to a girl who was sitting by herself and asked her to follow me to the front and take our seats there instead. So I went up to this guy and sat beside him and introduced myself.
Jean: Hello! My name is Jean, and you are?

He: I'm *inserts name*.
He: Are you from 02?
Jean: No, I'm from 01.
He: Then, erm..
Jean: Oh! This is 02?
Jean: Are we supposed to sit in our classes?
He: Err, ya.
Jean: *laughs* Then where is 01?
He: *laughs* Over there.
Jean: Oops! Oh, okay. *laughs* Thanks.

I rushed over to the right side of the LT even though I was only two steps away from it. I grabbed a seat in the middle of everyone and did a self-introduction to them.
Jean: Hiiii. I am Jean.
Jean: You guys didn't see me yesterday because I was in stomp.
Jean: Okay, never mind.

We had a short session of Jai Ho's dance after our course manager, Mr Geoffrey Da Silva, gave us a talk. Another incident of my embarrassment occurred when they wanted a representative from each class to go to the front and demonstrate the moves. Initially, our SLs kept persuading one guy from my class to represent us, labelling him as the dancing king. Unfortunately, he was obstinate and persistently refused to go to the front. So I was their next target.
Andy: There!
Jean: Shit. Why me?
Andy: Because you look very on.
Jean: Huh, nooo.

I went up anyway, and yes, it was pretty awkward, but at least I can say that I did it.

I had lunch with my fellow stompers and I got to know a new guy. I was sitting beside Russell, and since the guy opposite him was slightly unfamiliar to me, I wanted to get to know him.
Jean: What is your name?
Guy: Fried rice.
Jean and Russell:
*laughs*
Guy: Huh, no! Leon.

Therefore, I called him Fried Rice.

I am way too lazy to elaborate the rest of the day. I just have to say Stomp team is the best. Stompers made my orientation filled with loads of fun and laughter, not forgetting, good memories.
What can I say? Business school won for the fifth time!
BUSINESS.
